I serve as the Associate Program Director of the residency program and am board-certified in Public Health and General Preventive Medicine. I received my MD from Northeastern Ohio University’s College of Medicine and my MPH from the University of Michigan. In addition to Public Health and General Preventive Medicine residency, I completed training in Pediatrics and Pediatric Infectious Diseases. I have also completed a two-year CDC Epidemic Intelligence Service (EIS) program assignment. Upon moving to Wisconsin in 2011,  I worked in a post-EIS practicum to bridge healthcare and public health while assigned to the Wisconsin Department of Health Services. I began working at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health (UWSMPH) in June 2013. My work at UWSMPH focuses primarily on public health workforce development, specifically through the integration of public health into medical education.
In addition to working with the PMR program, I currently oversee the Public Health, Scientific Inquiry and Evidence-Based Medicine threads within the MD curriculum. I serve as a co-lead for the Public Health Leadership in Teaching and Engagement (PHLITE) clinical faculty development program in public health at UWSMPH. Additionally, I serve as the Faculty Director of the Path of Distinction in Public Health Program for medical students. My academic interests include examining best practices in the integration of emerging public health topics into medical education and in community-engaged medical education.
In my role as APD, I oversee the program’s didactic curriculum for the UW Preventive Medicine residents, which promotes ACGME milestones progression, board review and leadership development. I support residents interested in public health teaching and serve as a faculty mentor for residents in the MPH program.
