Dr. Jon Temte is the Associate Dean for Public Health and Community Engagement and is a Professor in the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health at University of Wisconsin Madison. Jon’s current research interests include viral disease surveillance in primary care and communities, use of absenteeism monitoring in schools as early warning for influenza outbreaks, early detection of influenza in long-term care facilities, and seasonality and epidemiology of influenza and SARS-CoV-2. He also serves as chair of the Wisconsin Council on Immunization Practices. He serves as a preceptor for Preventive Medicine residents interested in viral disease surveillance and is the Co-Chair of the Preventive Medicine Residency Program Evaluation Committee.
